Modern Downtown Winter Garden engagement session | Orlando Wedding Photographer

As an Orlando wedding photographer, I always encourage my couples to choose locations that hold meaning for them—not just ones that look pretty in photos. And Winter Garden? It delivered both.

We started Lauren and Morgan’s session at nearby Lake Apopka, which offered a peaceful contrast to the more urban feel of downtown Winter Garden. With the lake views, greenery, and soft morning light, it was the perfect place to ease into the session before heading downtown. I always recommend including two different locations and outfits when possible—it brings so much variety to your final gallery and helps tell a more complete story for your final gallery. This session had such a beautiful range between the peaceful morning by the water and our stroll through downtown.

One of my favorite parts about shooting in urban settings like downtown Winter Garden is finding the perfect vignettes in unexpected places. I’m always on the lookout for spots that most people might walk right past—like the edge of a parking lot that just so happened to be covered in the most gorgeous purple bougainvillea. Little surprises like that can add so much charm and color to a session, and I love incorporating them to give my couples something unique and a little different from the typical city shots.

Lauren and Morgan’s session felt laid-back and modern with just the right amount of downtown charm. I’m already counting down the days until their wedding this January at Villa Festa in DeLand, FL—one of the most beautiful and intimate venues in Central Florida. If their engagement session was any indication, their wedding day will be filled with love, personality, and lots of laughter.
